About Us
Doubt Breeds Darkness Foundation was created by Josh Caldwell, a former collegiate athlete, and Elijah Hicks of the Chicago Bears. The foundation was built on a powerful idea born from real experiences of being overlooked, underestimated, and doubted by others.
The phrase “Doubt Breeds Darkness” was introduced by Elijah Walker, a member of the foundation team. It reflects the reality that when people doubt you, it can create a sense of darkness within, fueling the desire to prove others wrong. At the same time, it represents a deeper message. When you choose faith over doubt, you move toward the light, away from negativity, fear, and limitation.
The DBD Foundation exists to empower youth through sports, mentorship, and community engagement. We believe that challenges and adversity can either hold you back or push you forward, and we are committed to helping young people use those moments as motivation for growth.
Through football camps, training opportunities, and community events, we provide a platform for athletes to develop their skills, build confidence, and learn the value of discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Our goal is to connect experienced athletes and mentors with the next generation, creating a positive and lasting impact.
